SYNOPSIS:

Zehen-e-Tanaaza [The conflict within] centers on an evening at a busy restaurant in Mumbai. The film explores deep, personal emotions of the people dining there- who are they when they take off their masks..? The unfeeling Kartik, the self-assured Smiti, Roshni- with the happy smile, the gentle, helpful Geeta; like a prism, Zehen-e-Tanaaza reveals to us their different shades……. Director’s Note or Statement on the Film “Zehen-e-Tanaaza is based on a common but yet unnoticed aspect of human behaviour- our tendency to be caught up in our own inner world and its turmoil while we are in a social situation.

DIRECTOR’S NOTE:

This film was originally written by me as a Play. My friends were convinced about its potential for a short film. Around the same time, I very strongly experienced a situation in which while I was extremely calm on the outside, I was, in fact, extremely agitated within. All of this led me to make this film. With Zehen-e-Tanaaza, I do not attempt to offer a resolution or a reconciliation between people. I simply wish to showcase my observations of interpersonal relationships.” – Mayuresh
