Three ladies think on their lives as they walk home one night in Mumbai.
The Whirling Soul
Synopsis:
A usual, lively night in Mumbai… three ladies walk home.. Unconnected with one another… each deep in thought.. Like poetries echoing in the desert of humanity.. Director’s Note or Statement on the Film City nights weave their own special poetry. They often bring out a vulnerability in all of us and we feel things more deeply. The Night’s Poetry is about one such night in the lives of three unconnected women.
Director’s note:
While writing this film, I could see myself in Neesha, in Rajini and in Ishra. The complex lives and emotions of people living in Metro cities and especially in Mumbai, has always been a subject of my interest. The thoughts that they have in their minds and their stoic faces, with a subtle expression in their eyes, is often the motivation for my art of filmmaking.
As the three of them walk home, various conversations from their recent past pours over them like turbulent poetry. I would like The Night’s Poetry, my art piece, to be the mirror of these women, their liberties, their freedom, their problems. – Mayuresh
